For all our readers who have problems keeping their homes systematically organized, take heed because we’ve found a store that will save your cluttered homes! Situated in the trendy neighbourhood of Queen Street West, Neat opened its doors for business in 2004 selling broad houseware items with one concept in mind – storage organization. A couple of years back, there began a small movement born from a need of space organization and so a ‘hold everything’ concept took off in places such as the United Kingdom. And with that, owners Andrew Livingston and Helene Clarkson ran with this simple yet hard to execute idea and brought Toronto a store filled with products which are not only simple and clean on an aesthetic level, but also functionality-driven.
For those of you who aren’t faced with an organization crisis, you would undoubtedly appreciate Neat as well. While keeping true to their storage and organization roots, Neat hasn’t taken the fun out of design. They’ve managed to keep a balance between sourcing organizational products as well as bringing a level of spirited energy to the home. Some of the brands that they carry include: LAX, Joseph Joseph and FLOR. It’s also quite invigorating to walk through the store and see everything sectioned by colour such that they blend in with their adjoining items.
And to top it off, the staff is ultra-friendly and more than willing to get out of their own way to help or even simply share a friendly conversation. Owner Andrew is wonderfully articulate and extremely gracious. Stop by if you get the chance, whether it’s to pick up something to organize your room or just to simply say hi.
