At first glance, the colourful spectacle of desserts in the store may lead you to believe that you’ve stumbled into a café, but upon closer inspection, you’ll realize that Demo Soap Studio sells precisely what the name advocates – soap. Located in the central corridor of the Liberty Market Building in Liberty Village, this distinctive soap shop emits a cozy and welcoming feel. Although the store emerged in 2003, owner Thomas has been making soap for over a decade. Armed with a fine arts background, he chose soaps as his canvas for expression and smart designs. Besides having a visual appeal, the soaps can also stimulate the sense of smell through the wide selection of pleasant fragrances.
The soap designs are very unique and personal. Demo Soap Studio offers a dessert-inspired line where the soaps are designed to replicate cakes, brownies, fortune cookies with personalized messages and customizable cupcakes. The soaps are all handmade at the store. You can even see how the soaps are made right in front of your eyes. As well, Demo Soap Studio also offers workshops for you to make your own soaps. And as good as their soaps look, just remember not to eat any!
